Biography

Drop Zone was formed in 2003 when Adam Preganz had a classic rock band that practiced just outside Charlottesville, VA. They were in the basement of a home belonging to a former US Marine, who had a huge paratrooper's canopy stretched across its ceiling. Hence the permanent name for the band's practice facilities was, is and always will be the "Parachute Lounge". Frank Crum joined in late 2003, and with a revolving door of members the band soldiered on...

After several talented bassists did time in the band between 2006 and 2009, Mike Stevens took the reigns in Drop Zone's latest incarnation.

Drop Zone's most amazing quality is the ability to produce a wall of sound from just three instruments. Our forte is late 70's and 80's classic hard rock, like AC/DC, Guns 'N Roses and Judas Priest. We lived and breathed the stuff in our childhood and we do it well. We also excel at the best of today's rock, such as Puddle Of Mudd, Candlebox, Stone Temple Pilots and Bush. With rave reviews from Petersburg to Richmond, Charlottesville and the Shenandoah Valley, Drop Zone is an act you don't want to miss!
